ok, I just found out that that I get back from working in eugene for 5 weeks on auguest 28th. I am just wondering how to sign up for this race?

looks amazing how do i sign up and all of that good stuff.
i'm a noob to the competition side of the sport, but i've been dyin for somethin like this. hit me up with some info por favor.

This is the wrong thread for the Tri Cities race. With that said the word is that the city pulled its support.

Just to be perfectly clear, the Tri Cities Downhill Race set for the first weekend of august has been cancelled (bummer for Noah). The Cathlamet Downhill Corral set for the LAST weekend of august is still very much on.

I won't be able to make it there until saturday evening. Will I miss anything important besides the push and slalom race?

I will be their probably around the same time as alex. saturday evening.

The band will be playing at the marina until 10, so depends when you get in. Chamber of Commerce is working on the band, so I have no info on what type of music or if it's even for sure, I just know they want it shut down by 10 for the other marina guests peace. They are also trying to organize a breakfast (similar to Goldendale's), that would also be on site at the marina.

if we only want to do the downhill race can we still come watch the others and camp or do we have to pay?

Doug, Judy is just fine thanks! Watching the other events is free, camping fee stands unfortunately. There will be a how to session friday night, demo boards will be available for trying out setups. The slalom course will be open for a couple hours prior to the timed races. There is a hill a little further west out of town that folks could freeride on, but you'll have to figure out a shuttle system, and the pavement isn't ideal. If you want to just hang out in town saturday we can probably put you to work setting up hay bales.
Did you get your leathers fixed yet?

That would be great (setting up hay bails) and my grandma fixed the holes in them but I still need to get them tailord!

I have an 8 person tent if anyone wants to share, I have no plans or any idea on what I'm doing for camping yet. But, I have a tent air conditioner!

Nick, i'm not getting there until saturday but I'll split the campsite cost if I can stay there sat. night

So there has been a slight change to camping. We now have a large field available for us to use as the racer's campground. It is on Puget Island not far from where the push race starts. The cost is $5 a night and the campground has porto-potties, a cooking shelter and lots of soft grass. More info and maps soon....

The camping situation sounds way more fun and cheaper too!

Ok, the new spot sounds cool. But I have a few questions. Should I cancel my reservation at the marina campground? How do I reserve a spot at the new site, and can I stay there on Sunday night as well? I'm planning on coming up on Saturday afternoon. Will there still be space at the new site by then, or will it be filled up (Pat's coming with me, and Cooper will probably crash with us Sunday night)? Please let me know.

For anyone that was planning on sleeping in my huge tent, sorry.. but I'll only be out there the day of the race now as I'll be in sun river the week before with family and flying in the day prior to the race and driving out the day of.

I talked to Jason of Comet the other day, and he should be sending out a board or two to Rip City to be tossed into the prize pool. I'm moving into my dorm that weekend so I'm gonna try my best to get out there, but in case I can't I told him to ship the boards straight to Rip City. Let me know if/when you get them, JP.

If you already have a spot at the marina, it's totally up to you if you want to cancel it and stay on the island. There's pros to both campgrounds. Personally I want a bed and private shower, so I'm keeping my cabin at the marina!

Ginni is planning on having kayaks and guides available for evening high tide, so that should be a blast. She's very stoked, so as long as you guys don't set her barn on fire, we should be golden for future events! Also Addison is working on his grandfather's dock, so anyone brave enough can ride down the ramp and launch themselves into the Columbia! He also talked the coffee vendor into bringing energy drinks, flavored water and gatorade. He wanted to tell you Heidi Klum would be there too, but I talked him out of that.
