Buttboarding lives!

I just finished my first wood project. It's a buttboard and it was fairly simple to make. I've had a lot of time on my hands and not a lot of cash, so when I came back from Goldendale, I decided to make this:

How'd it go Dave?!

So I brought the Buffalo Butt Bomber^tm up to Tabor yesterday and it was a blast! I have never ripped down a hill that fast before. Despite having researched buttboards online via websites and messageboards, there is no better learning experience than simply making a board, setting it up, bombing, tweaking the recipe and bombing again.
If you are interested in making one of these, get hard bushings. I had some Khiros that I picked up from the ground at FoS in 2007, but quickly realized they weren't making the grade. I am not familiar with "duros" or numbers in general, so I can't tell you what is better. Secondly, this should be obvious to all, but if you want to keep buttboarding, were pads (duh), primarily elbows and gloves that have some good knuckle protection. I have gotten my hand stuck between the wheels and the board and it doesnt feel nice. Also, since you are so low to the ground, a lot of pebbles and dust gets kicked up in your face, make yourself a visor for your full face, oh yeah and wear a full face helmet! Lastly, be prepared to hear/see more buttboard events in the future! I know winter is upon us, but I could definitely see a zoobomb race or something. We tested the 2 Buff Butt Bombers in an undisclosed location and all I have to say is that these things rip down the hills! Also, I have one more blank laying around, if anyone is interested in getting into this ridiculous discipline!
