Coastal Skatepark Weekend

On Thursday I went out to Hood River and skated with Riley, we came back to Portland and hit up Holly Farm, the next morning got Theo and JP and hit up Tigard, Mcminville, Waldport, Toledo, Siletz, Lincoln City, Bay City, Cannon Beach and Seaside over the next 3 days. I would have a hard time saying what was my favorite because they were all badass, but I think I had the most fun at Mcminville, Toledo, Lincoln City and Bay City, surprisingly. No one had a video camera sadly but Theo, JP and I all had our digistills so there sure were a lot of pictures of Riley.


This was one of the funnest obstacles of the whole trip.


We had that shit filled up to the brim.


That beast was one of the scariest things I've ever skated, you were going so fast, and the last roller, even though it's like 8 feet high you are still almost airing over it. It's easy to imagine a few people getting killed in this thing, the littlest mistake and you aren't running anything off.


Riley was loving the cradle.


There were some awesome sections of road going up to the free cabin we stayed in.


Free cabins! You just gotta climb a mile up a thousand feet probably to get to them. Better than sleeping on the beach next to a Casino the night before...






This thing was way scarier than it looked, and you could tell barely anyone had ever skated it because it grinded like glass and still looked brand new. All the ones after this are JP's pictures. He left his camera in my car and I couldn't wait to see them so I just put them up for him.

damn. i'm very jealous. that looks like an awesome weekend! having a big trip like that with no serious injuries is a wonderful thing.
we'll have to do something kinda like that but hit up klamath falls too. also the road bombing into ashland. hot damn! those photos get me stoked!

That's some gnarly skating...it's hard to believe no one got broken...the shot of Casey on the Beast of a wall is nuts! The shadow is soooo long. Nice shots!

Hell yeah, I definitely missed a few parks we stopped by last year, especially FLORENCE. Oh yeah, on the way back me and JP did the mistbomb and it wasn't as smooth as it looked but it was fun for sure! And there was seriously no traffic, we were setting up in the road and shit, it was awesome. 7 miles of Ashland bomb though hell yeah let's do that again. It is awesome to know that you only would need to get a 3 day weekend to do all that, maybe a 4 day for the next one down to K falls. Let's do the multi-car King of the Road skatepark tour! Who else we got, let's get like 4 cars worth of people?!

that waldport park is fucking sick. no pictures?

We skated too much on this trip and didn't really get many pictures or footage. I kind of regret it but I trust that we probably had more fun because of it, can never be certain though because there's no video evidence...

I know wha you mean, the duty of filming can put a damper on things sometime.

Yo, you guys for sure gotta let me know if you do a park tour again. Been wanting to do that for a while.

Its cool having so many parks in the NW, but damn its frustrating! Theres so many parks just in Washington I've never hit, let alone Oregon.

Me and JP have been fantasizing about a Port Townsend, Port Angeles, Orcas Island trip sometime this year, mostly centered around Orcas. Spend all day at each park. We'll let you know if that ever happens or not!

what about k-falls?

Def' let me know. I haven't hit any of those parks, except for Orcas but that was before I really even skated parks. You'll have to hit the new Greenlake park in Seattle as well. Killer place.

Yeaaah, there's a bunch of stuff around Seattle too that'll be worth hitting at some point.

Weren't we going to do some Oregon park tour again with a few different cars worth of People down there? I don't think it'd be worth trying to do one with the NW Washington parks and southern Oregon parks in the same trip. I definitely want to hit a lot of those parks we hit last summer though, and do the NW Washington stuff some time too.
