I know I'm cross posting this with another site but I wanted to throw it out there and hopefully get a volunteer.
My mad skills aren't mad enough for 50 mph. But.... I'll be there. I have a motorcycle with a rear trunk and would be happy to have a camera person sitting on the back shooting the whole thing. Any volunteers? Let me know so I know whether to bring a helmet.

That is such a sick idea! Why aren't we doing that everywhere all the time?! I'll let you know if I find anyone with the balls to do that!

CAN YOU BEAT THE BURNSIDE?

Get ready for Portland's only reverse-timed race! Leave as early as you want, or as late as you dare. Your challenge is to reach the bridge before it goes up at 9am-SHARP!


Cruise along the super-fast 8K course (and shorter 2K option)...ALL DOWNHILL! Starting at the World Forestry Center in Hoyt Arboretum, you'll descend past the Rose Gardens in Washington Park to PGE Park, ending with a straight shot down Burnside. The Finish Line Festival takes place on the Burnside Bridge--the "epicenter" of Portland, defining both north and south, east and west!

At 9am, the bridge will go up while you and thousands of participants and spectators are serenaded by the Last Regiment of Syncopated Drummers...marking the end of the race and the beginning of the party!

Reach the Bridge is an opportunity to honor lung cancer survivors and pay special tribute to those lost to the disease. Proceeds from the event benefit the American Lung Association of Oregon and help fund lung cancer research. Participants who fundraise for this event are eligible for great prizes and will help fund the research that makes an impact on this devastating disease.

Seeing as to how my skills are severely lacking to bomb Burnside and I don't have leathers I'll be more than happy to film from the back of your bike, It sounds fun, I'll need a camera though...

anybody whose planning on going should probably go to bed early. we will be doing plenty of skating sunday.

Any idea / rough estimate when you guys will be crossing the finish line? Or better yet hitting nw 23rd and burnside? I'm debating if I want to get up that early to watch!

we'll be bombing shorty after 5am. right around sunrise.

there was a total of 10 people at the race. not bad for 5:00am! thanks to skip for making the trophy and driving the uhaul down!

yeah, very fun race. i made the mistake of zoobombing till like midnight. when i got up, i was so disoriented that i forgot to put a shirt on! i rocked the rash guard all day haha!

Billy, had a great time at the race, skating Burnside and then hitting the hills afterwards. Thanks for letting us crash on your floor!

I've got some funny footage of riding in the U-Haul, some podium stuff, and a little of Burnside. I'll probably edit it sometime but if someone is putting together more footage I can send it to you somehow.

yo wilder, get in touch with jayboy, he had the other camera that day. Casey had a good shot of burnside too.
