Ya thats how mine are to. I have this leather softner stuff that helps out be the leathers ability to stretch that you can use.

Alex I got plenty of wheels you can borrow for the seattle pusher...you don't want to ride on wheels worn down that much anyway, small wheels catch the expansion gaps that Shane likes to throw in, in the middle of the course. ha ha. Bigger wheels = less crashing. Tad Drysdale lost his evo in the water last year because of those expansion gaps. Luckily different course this year.

plug SW Madison St and SW Murray Ln into google maps, and that is the bottom of switchbacks.
Also, if you are on this side of town, feel free to swing by Rip City Skate and I can give you a heads up on a couple different hills.
